Laboratory Overview

We undertake a full range of routine diagnostic tests; including gross specimens, endoscopic, open biopsies (including skin), needle biopsies and curettings together with immunocytochemistry, frozen sections and OSNA (One Step Nucleic acid amplification lymph node analysis) services. The service provides essential information to clinicians in the process of diagnosing cancer and other diseases.

This includes general Pathology content with contact details for key staff  and the repertoire of tests currently performed in the Blood Sciences Laboratories. The repertoire of tests performed on site in the Infection Sciences and Tissue Sciences (Cellular Pathology) departments are not currently UKAS accredited.
